Spanish Kiss third at Lingfield
Spanish Kiss made a promising reappearance run to be third at Lingfield yesterday. A little nervous in the prelims and getting rather warm he soon settled at the start under Tom Queally. The William Knight-trained son of Lope De Vega broke well and was held up towards the rear. He made up ground from around the 3f pole and was an eye-catching runner up the straight to ultimately finish a well beaten third, but having made up a lot of ground on the eventual second. He will be an interesting proposition once given a handicap mark and a step up to 1m 4f could be seen later in the year. Overall a good run and a lively horse with a future.
