Spanish Kiss runs at Newcastle this afternoon

The William Knight-trained Spanish Kiss runs in the 2 mile handicap at Newcastle, due off at 4.55pm. There are 10 runners and his is drawn nicely in 2 with Callum Shepherd on board. This will be a fascinating test for Spanish Kiss who steps up to 2 miles for the first time. He has stamina in abundance in his pedigree (family of Milan etc) so fingers crossed he gets the trip. He looked in rude health when I saw him last week and William has been delighted with his homework. IF he stays (which is a big IF) then he ought to have a good chance in a race full of mostly exposed horses, albeit who have proven stamina.
