Spanish Kiss remains unbeaten on turf with facile win on Newmarket’s July Course

 In News

The William Knight-trained Spanish Kiss backed up his recent York win with an easy win on Newmarket’s July course. The gelded son of Lope de Vega he was an impressive winner again yesterday (winning £4,346), making a mockery of his new rating with a 4 1/2 length win and maintaining his unbeaten record on turf. Callum was only happy ‘enough’ early doors but the further into the race they went, the better Spanish Kiss seemed to be going – coming there hard onto the bridle with about 2 furlongs to go before being let out an inch of rein to sprint clear impressively. The handicapper is going to take a dim view of this and i’d be very surprised if gets anything less than an 8lb rise which will take him into the low 90’s and thus make him eligible for some very valuable handicaps, including a £75k handicap over yesterday’s course and distance at the July Festival in just under three weeks time. Congratulations to all his partners.
