Spanish Kiss narrowly beaten at Newcastle
The William Knight-trained Spanish Kiss was beaten into second having briefly hit the front at Newcastle on Tuesday evening. Under Callum Shepherd he broke well and was perhaps not overly enamoured by the sedate early pace. However he soon settled in the mile and a half contest and looked to be in a good slot. One of the last off the bridle he looked the likely winner with a furlong or so to go, but ultimately was beaten three quarters of a length by a possibly better handicapped rival. He has now been in the frame for all his three starts this season and will hopefully get his nose in front next time.
