Sir Busker returns to action and Carolus Magnus looks to back up his recent win

 In News

An exciting day is in store for KVT with two runners with big chances.

First up is our flag bearer the William Knight-trained Sir Busker who lines up in the Listed Paradise Stakes over the straight mile at his beloved Ascot. It has been his long term target to start off his season here and the five-year-old gelding is in great nick. A drop of rain may be helpful and having been off the track a while he could be a little rusty compared to some who have already been seen this term. However he should run his usual big race and we hope he goes very close under Champion and regular jockey Oisin Murphy.

Following from Sir Busker’s race at 355pm is Carolus Magnus’s turn to try and get another win on the board. The Andrew Balding-trained gelding takes his chance in the 7f Median Auction Stakes at Chelmsford due off at 510pm. Callum Hutchinson takes the ride and takes off the 7lbs penalty from his brilliant win on the Rowley Mile. He faces 9 rivals and will break from stall 2. He is a warm favourite and fingers crossed he can take this contest.

The best of luck to both sets of owners.

Spanish Kiss ran a solid race in defeat at Lingfield last night. Drawn widest he had to travel a little wide through most the contest and was a little free in his running style. Callum Shepherd went forward around the bend, but the well placed winner was able to catch him in the last furlong. He was only beaten just over a length from the race fit winner. He should come on mentally and physically for the return to action, having been off for 6 months and hopefully is hard to beat next time. His loyal owners should have a lot of fun with him this term.
