The admirable Mark Johnston-trained Persian Moon was just denied victory in a thrilling contest at Ascot this afternoon. The three-year-old colt failed by just a short head in the valuable one and a half mile heritage handicap under Adam Kirby. He really deserves a win this term but again picks up valuable money for his owners.
