More excitement as Magical Memory declared for HQ on Friday
It seems rather remarkable that our star sprinter is returning to the scene of his last run which was 761 days ago! He had a bad suspensory ligament injury which has been carefully looked after by Greg Jones (Merton Place Stud) and Chris and Claire Bonner for a lot of this time before returning to his old home at Faringdon Road earlier in the year. Since then Nicola, who has always looked after him, and Team Hills have done a terrific job to get him back to the track and looking so well. He may be a little ring rusty after such a long absence but is very well in himself and we can not wait to see the gates ping open at 1.50pm on Friday afternoon on the Rowley Mile.
Magic will be reunited with old friend and superstar jockey Frankie Dettori and they will face the maximum 11 rivals in the 6f 4yo+ sprint. The eight-year-old-gelding will carry top weight.
It will be a huge race for KVT and thank you to all of Magic’s very loyal and patient owners who have allowed him to return to action. The very best of luck to all and the team at Charlie Hills’. Fingers crossed we can see his old pace and sparkle.
