Fast Forward (FR)
Fast Forward (FR)
2019 Bay gelding by Recorder (GB) ex Forward Feline (IRE) (One Cool Cat (USA))
Owner KVT IX
Dual flat winner Fast Forward was bought as a dual purpose prospect and is trained by a maestro in this field in Alan King. He shed is maiden tag on the flat at Windsor in May this year and he backed that up with an unlucky second at Yarmouth followed by another win at Yarmouth. He was a slow burner initially but has given his devoted owners some great fun.
This gelding cost 30,000 guineas and was already named Fast Forward which we rather like! His pedigree looked ideal for what we were looking for as his dam, Forward Feline, is a half-sister to the Grade 3 winner hurdler, Early Doors as well as another black type hurdler in Yauthym. These horses were not listed on the catalogue page but they didn’t escape our notice! As an interesting bonus, he is eligible for French Owners Premiums which means he would receive around a 65% bonus on prizemoney should we ever choose to race him on the flat in France.
Recorder was a winner of the Acomb Stakes for The Queen and William Haggas and he is now at stud in France where he remains part-owned by the Royal Studs
Alan King
Alan is the countries leading dual purpose trainer and 2022 saw him enjoy another excellent season on the flat, with the historic win by Trueshan in the Northumberland Plate being a memorable highlight.
