Dual Identity (IRE)
Dual Identity (IRE)
2018 Bay gelding by Belardo (IRE) ex Teide Lady (GB) (Nashwan (USA))
Owner KVT IV
Dual Identity had just two starts as a juvenile, with a best placed third on his final start in October. Last year he got his head in front with an easy win at Salisbury in mid August under Jim Crowley. He was always one to do better with time and he has had a great winter and was narrowly beaten (neck) on his comeback run and followed this up with his second win on his most recent start at Newcastle, again under Jim.
Dual Identity is an attractive gelding who hails from the first crop of the Champion two-year-old and Dewhurst (Group 1) winner Belardo, who went on to win the Lockinge (Group 1) aged four. Belardo is very much bred to be a top class stallion. A son of the leading sire Lope De Vega, he actually achieved a higher Timeform rating on the track than his own father. His dam, Danaskaya, was herself a very fast and precocious two-year-old who earned the accolade of being crowned Champion two-year-old filly in Ireland.
The dam, Teide Lady, is a winning daughter of Sheikh Hamdan’s outstanding Derby winner Nashwan who has already produced the Group 3 winning two-year-old Ayaar at stud to date. She, herself, is a half- sister to the Superlative Stakes (Group 2) winner Hatta Fort as well as a very recent Group 3 winner in the shape of Brian Meehan’s Spirit Of Appin.
We bought this gelding at the Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling Sale. William Knight loved him at the sales and trains him from his base in Newmarket.

William Knight is a Group winning trainer who is based in Newmarket at the state-of-art yard at Rathmoy Stables. He trains our KVT Flag bearer Sir Busker, Dual Identity, Bunker Bay and a two-year-old colt by Churchill for KVT. 2021 was William's equal best in numbers of winners and his record prizemoney - we hope 2022 beat's both those!
