Fast Forward a much improved second at Newcastle

The Alan King-trained Fast Forward finally showed his true colours last night, finishing a close 2nd of the 13 runners in the 1 mile Nursery at Newcastle. He travelled much better throughout in the first time cheekpieces, coming through with a strong run down the outside under a good ride from the young jockey, Jonny Peate. Unfortunately, he probably just bumped into one (a half-brother to Dance Fever) – you don’t expect to see an Al Shaqab/Balding-trained one in a 0-65 at Newcastle! However, he beat the rest nicely and this was encouraging for the future, not least as he surely will be better over further.
