Fancy Dress respectable 6th on her racecourse debut
The Ralph Beckett-trained Fancy Dress was a pleasing 6th out of 11 on debut at Nottingham yesterday. Under Richard Kingscote she broke well, but was then held up as others were keener to make the running. As predicted she ran fairly green and was on and off the bridle and did not handle the bend that well, being slightly intimidated by the others. However once in the straight she looked much better and was doing her best work in the final furlong. Although the race was gone at this point it was good to see her stay on and she will come on significantly for this run. This daughter of Mastercraftsman ought to be a much better prospect next year up in trip, but she may well be up to wining a maiden this term.
