Dual Identity is a facile winner this afternoon at Salisbury
Huge congratulations to Dual Identity’s owners after he hacked up at Salisbury this evening. This three-year-old gelded son of Belardo had the widest draw, but former champion Jim Crowley kept it simple and stayed out wide, waiting for a position to open up. Trainer William Knight and regular rider Jitka have always had faith in Dual and maintained he would get stronger as the season developed. They were justified in their optimism as the 100/30 favourite never looked in doubt of shedding his maiden tag, with smooth progress on the outside. He could have been called the winner almost two furlongs out and eventually came home and easy 3 1/2 lengths in front. The slight ease in the ground and the 10 furlongs seemed ideal and hopefully with this confidenece booster behind him he can build a good run of things in the second half of the season.
