Dance Fever and Spanish Kiss line up in the Shergar Cup under Team Ireland.

 In News

We have two runners in tomorrow’s Shergar Cup at Ascot and both will be ridden by top Dubai rider Tadgh O’Shea. They will be sporting the green silks of Team Ireland. Whilst Spanish Kiss likes a bit of cut, Dance Fever likes it fast so we are hoping for genuine Good ground allowing both to take their respective chances.

First up is Spanish Kiss, who runs in the Shergar Cup Challenge over 1 mile 4 furlongs, due off at 2pm. There are the usual ten runners and crucially we have a good draw this time in 1. For those who do not know about the Shergar Cup, it is a team event with riders representing the UK/Ireland/Europe/Girls and they carry different coloured silks to reflect this. To encourage us to forfeit our silks then the prizemoney is excellent! William is very happy with Spanish Kiss at home and hopefully his draw will mean he doesn’t need to sit too far back this time and this trip will suit his strong traveling style.

Following hot on his heels is Dance Fever who takes his chance in the Shergar Cup Mile due off at 2.35pm. There are the usual ten runners and we are drawn wide in 8 given it is the round mile this time. Clive has been very happy with DF at home since the Moet & Chandon and hopes he will run another big race here.

The best of luck to both sets of owners and Team Ireland!
