Carolus Magnus wins the first race of the season at Newmarket

Wow what a fantastic win for Carolus Magnus yesterday at Newmarket. This gelded son of Holy Roman Emperor broke smartly and Oisin Murphy got a great position as he grabbed the rail. He then led the whole way, winning by a comfortable length and three quarters. After the set back last year his patient owners have been rewarded by a very nice horse who looks set to improve and possibly a step up in trip to a mile. For now we will enjoy the win and begin to dream!
