Carolus Magnus a good third at Sandown

 In News

The Andrew Balding-trained Carolus Magnus ran a solid race in defeat at Sandown under Rob Hornby this afternoon. As expected there was not much early speed, so he took the lead and stayed there until the final furlong, when he was headed. However he is a gritty horse who gives his all and he battled back and was not going to lose third place. This rates as a probably his best run to date and we should have some more fun with him this season and beyond.
