Cabinet Maker a much improved third at Newcastle
The Mark Johnston-trained Cabinet Maker was a good third on just his second start at Newcastle. Under Franny Norton he broke well and cut out the early fractions. The two-year-old was still in front around the 2 furlong pole in the mile contest and then was taken on by the very well bred eventual winner. Our colt paid the price for his exertions with the winner and was nabbed for second close him. This was a big step up from his debut run and he looks to have a promising future.
